SAL sister organisation Landlord Accreditation Scotland (LAS) is running a variety of events over and above their programme of Core Standards training.
You may already have had details directly from LAS – the aim is to bring as much practical advice as possible to aid in the day to day process of working in the Scottish private rented sector.
Portable Appliance Testing courses – 6, 7 & 8 October 2014
PAT testing is best practice for portable appliances in rented property. This does not have to be done by a qualified electrician. Landlords can attend a one day course to learn how to become competent in testing. Currently LAS have spaces available on courses in Glenrothes, Edinburgh & Paisleyhowever places at these courses are limited and always book up very quickly so if you do wish to attend please make your booking as soon as possible for these remaining places.
Legal Update seminars in partnership with TC Young solicitors – September & October 2014
Keeping up to date with changes to legislation affecting the private rented sector can be a challenge for both landlords and letting agents. LAS & TC Young are working in partnership to deliver a series of seminars focusing on legal changes and in particular the proposed changes under the new Housing (Scotland) Act 2014. New to Letting – 7 October 2014
Have you just starting letting property or do you know someone who has recently become a landlord? LAS is now running an entry level course specifically for those who are new to the industry and need to know their obligations. This course takes place in Stirling on 7 October. Please feel free to pass on this information to anyone you know who is new to the industry.
